in the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument of southern Utah and northern Arizona, around the Lake Powell region. two different types of hadrosaur, two ceratopsians and two tyrannosaurs. The environment is a steamy, swampy, coastal forest in southern Laramidia.
Diabloceratops had a big round nose, long horns, and spiked frill, Diabloceratops is strange looking, even for a dinosaur. Acristavus is a a hadrosaur lacked ornamentation on its skull. It is closely related to Brachylophosaurus and Maiasaura. Trace fossils of for two fossilized mammalian den complexes as well as associated digging grooves presumably caused by a maniraptoran dinosaur exist. The proximity indicates a case of probable active predation of the burrow inhabitants by the owners of the claw marks.
Unlike most other centrosaurine ceratopsians, Diabloceratops had long horns above its eyes and a short nose horn, similar to more well-known chasmosaurines such as Triceratops, Kosmoceratops, and Utahceratops. This animal also had a deep snout compared to other members of this group of horned dinosaurs. It is the oldest known and one of the most primitive centrosaurine dinosaurs and was the first member of this group to be discovered south of Montana.
Nasutoceratops sports bovine horns and a boney nasal ridge. The skin has pebbly scales tha are an irregular mix with larger bumps that cover the body realistically.
In North America dinosaurs lived in regional bands where they diversified into distinct species finely attuned to their local environments.
