Styracosaurus has a skeleton very similar to Centrosaurus from the lower part of the formation and may have been the same genus. Vagaceratops was initally thought to be a form of the earlier Chasmosaurus. The rare Parasaurlophus contines to be present. There seems to be a niche for one species of chasmosaurine and one centrosaurine hinting that each type had a distinct ecologial niche.
Styracosaurus had horns and frill only covering the head and neck, giving the body relatively little in the way of protection.
Styracosaurus had an ornate array of frill spikes (6 for S. albertensis, 4 for S. ovatus), and 1 long straight nose spike. Its head was 2 m (6 ft) long and 0.8 m (2 ft) wide.
The horns may have been used to try and score a hit on the side of the body rather than the head, with the more mature individuals with larger horns having a better chance of success. Parasaulophus is found in the middle of the formation.
Vagaceratops had a long neck frill and reduced horns and is found at the top of the formation.
