Playskool  Dinosaurs 092204

Definitely Dinosaurs  1987 to 1996

Playskool is owned by Hasbro the people who brought of the Jurassic park dinosaurs.  Playskool produced a series of articulated hard plastic dinosaurs ( plus a Moschops and Dimetrodon which are not dinosaurs ), cavemen  ( but no prehistoric mammals).   The dinosaurs are made attachment points for chairs that the cave people can ride in.  There were also books to describe the animals.  The largest figure was the Ultrasaurus and it is an uncommon collectable.  Polecanthus was an especially well done figure and a unique choice a the time.  The figures are often confused with Tyco Dino Rider figures.  The Accessories are getting hard to find.

Playskool 'Soft figures'  Wendy's Premiums

The figures were used by the Wendy's chain as children's meals premiums.   The dinosaurs were released in a variety of different colors.  The Tyrannosaurus seems only to have been used by Wendy's.   It disappeared from the later Playskool releases.  The figures are hollow and have either a tail or head that moves.   These figures hold up well and are easy to clean.  A favorite for preschool children who enjoy the videos of little foot and his friends.   The Leptoceratops is a favorite figure of mine.  Usually sold in individual blister packs that display nicely for collectors.

Jurassic Park Junior

These figures didn't last very long. I suppose even preschool children preferred the more realistic Hasbro JP figures.
